Mathew Bahe

REHOBOTH — Services are pending for Mathew Jeromy Bahe, 24.

Bahe died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, in Rehoboth. He was born Dec. 10, 1984, in Gallup, into the Bitter Water People Clan.

Donation meeting will be 6 p.m., tonight, Dec. 1, at Churchrock Chapter House.

Maria Bia

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral Mass for Maria Tebah Bia, 89, will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament, Fort Defiance. The Rev. Gilbert Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Defiance.

Bia died Nov. 27, 2009, in Fort Defiance. She was born March 4, 1920, in Chambers, into the Near the Water People Clan for the Water’s Edge People Clan.

Maria went to school at St. Michaels Indian School, Fort Defiance Indian School and Riverside Intermountain Indian School. She worked as a seamstress, nanny, program supervisor for Indian Development District of Arizona, National Council on Aging. She was also a homemaker, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Vern Bia; daughter, Miranda Blatchford; brother, Joseph Metteba; 10 grandchildren.

Bia was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Bia; parents, Billy Tabaha, Margaret Whitehorse; sisters, Colleta Tabaha, Anita Wauneka, Jenny Wauneka, Myra Teba; brothers, Johnnie Tapaha, Sammie Teba, Bennie Teba.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Blatchford, Nathaniel Bia, Caleb Bia, other family members.

The family will meet at Fort Defiance Chapter House, following services.

Lucille Cayaditto

PUEBLO PINTADO — Funeral services for Lucille Mae Cayaditto, 79, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Caleb Mesa Bible Baptist Church, Pueblo Pintado. Frankie Lopez and the Rev. Rodney Vincent will officiate. Burial will be in Counselor, N.M.

Cayaditto died Nov. 28, 2009, in Crownpoint. She was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Pueblo Pintado, into the Salt People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.

Cayaditto attended school in Phoenix and Sherman Indian School. She was with the vice president for local senior centers in Pueblo Pintado. Cayaditto was an artist with Native Arts, weaver, basket weaver, shash belt maker and did bead work.

Survivors include her sons, Dickson C. Chee, Roy Cayaditto Jr.; daughter, Lisa Cayaditto of Pueblo Pintado; brother, Chee Mitchell of Naguzi; sisters, Rosemary Pablo, Alice Julian, both of Pueblo Pintado; 27 grandchildren.

Cayaditto was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cayaditto; mother, Jean Mitchell; father, Bonnie Mitchell.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Begay, Dustin Toledo, Mikkah Cayaditto, Tyson Yazzie, Myron Toledo, Vivian Toledo.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Pueblo Pintado Community Chapter, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

David Cox

GALLUP — Services for David Cox, 39, were 1 p.m., Nov. 28, at East Aztec Baptist Church, Gallup. Gene Turk officiated.

Cox died Nov. 22, 2009. He was born May 9, 1970.

Cox attended Gallup/McKinley County schools and worked as a pilot car driver. He will be missed.

Survivors include his mother, Bev Peretti; father, James Cox of Gallup; brother, Michael Peretti of Austin, Texas.

Cope Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Sam Long

ROCK SPRINGS — Services are pending for Sam Long, 69.

Long died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, in Gallup. He was bo rn April 13, 1940, in Rock Springs, into the Zuni People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

A gathering will be 6 p.m., tonight, Dec. 1, at Rock Springs Chapter House.

David Jim

GALLUP — Services are pending for David Jim, 37.

Jim died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, in Gallup. He was born April 21, 1972, in Gallup.

Grace Shirley

SAWMILL — Funeral Mass for Grace Chester Shirley, 89, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Catholic Church, Fort Defiance. The Rev. Gilbert Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in Wide Ruins Community. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., one hour prior to services.

Shirley died Nov. 26, 2009, in Fort Defiance. She was born July 20, 1920, into the Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Black Streak of Forest People Clan.

Shirley attended Fort Wingate Boarding School and St. Michaels Indian School. She worked as a nurse at Fort Defiance Indian Hospital and Gallup Indian Medical Center where she retired after 25 years of service. She received various awards relating to her services as a nurse.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Shirley of Sawmill; daughter, Laraine Lee of Fort Defiance; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Chester, Eleanor Chester-Nez, Winifred Chester-Jackson; brothers, Lee Arthur Chester, Albert Chester, Carlton Chester, Arthur Chester; husband, Lorenzo Shirley; parents, Philamena Chester, Basil Chester.

Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Shirley II, Johnathan Lee, Christopher Lee, Christopher Yoe, Benjamin Begay,Navajo Nation Police Officer, and a veteran.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Wide Ruins Chapter House, following services.

Clara Tracy

GALLUP — Funeral services are pending for Clara Mae Tracy, 49.

Tracy died Nov. 27, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Oct. 14, 1960, in Phoenix.

A family gathering will be 5:30 p.m., tonight, Dec. 1, at Twin Lakes Chapter House.

Lovell Lambson

RAMAH — Services are pending for Lovell Arby Lambson, 90.

Lambson died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in Ramah. She was born July 24, 1919, in Ramah.

COOLIDGE — Funeral services are pending for Leo B. Yazzie, 53.

Yazzie died Nov. 28, 2009, near Manuelito. He was born March 4, 1956, in Gallup.
