Glenn Billie Jr.

NAHODISHGISH — Services for Glenn Frank Billie Jr., 78, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Gallup Christian Center. The Rev. Cluek will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth.

Billie died Dec. 20, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Standing Rock, into the Water Flows Together People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

Billie was a loving father and grandfather. He retired from the BIA schools as a transportation supervisor for 38 years. He was a pastor, counselor, advisor, and served in the Korean war.

Billie was also a rancher. He enjoyed his livestock, reading his Navajo Bible, doing puzzle books, being around his grandchildren, loved driving, working on vehicles, and joked with any one who crossed his path.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Morgan Billie; sons, Watson Billie, Emery Billie, Eldon Billie; daugthers, Eleanore Schultz, Elrena Voigt, Elaine Billie Henderson; step-brothers, Ray Chee Billy, Roy Billy, Raymond Billy, Kenny Tso; sisters, Lillie Brown, Janet Yazzie, Janice Begay; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Billie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Billie Sr., Alice Manygoats.

Pallbearers will be military and family members.

Ida Hackney

GRANTS — Services for Ida Hackney, 92, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the First Baptist Church, Grants. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. Visitation was 5-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21, at Compassion Mortuary.

Hackney died Dec. 16, 2009, in Grants. She was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Cushing, Okla.

Hackney grew up in Oklahoma. After her husband’s discharge, their family moved to Albuquerque. They lived there until 1958 until they moved to Grants. She was active in the community, being a part of the Chamber of Commerce, volunteering at the hospital and at the local food bank. Hackney enjoyed walking at the the community center with her friends. She was a strong Christian. Hackney and her husband enjoyed traveling, golfing and socializing with their friends. She made a trip to South Korea at the age of 85 to attend her grandson’s wedding.

Survivors include her children, Vicki Berndt of Richland, Wash., Richard B. Hackney of Grants, Jon Hackney of Grants; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Hackney was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Hackney; parents, Regnal Weir, Maude Delay Weir; siblings, Leslie Weir, Irene Weir Barnhart, Vernong Weir, Regnal Weir, Virgie Weir Cartwright.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Hackney, Eric Hegland, Kevin Witherspoon, Bob Burnt, Phillip Hackney, Wes Wyatt.

Alice Moore

MEXICAN SPRINGS — Funeral services for Alice Gloria Moore, 67, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, at United Pentecostal Church, Tohatchi. The Rev. Jerry Eastridge will officiate. Burial will be in family land, Cactus Mesa.

Moore died Dec. 18, 2009, in Gallup. She was born April 18, 1942, in Naschitti, into the Hairy People Clan for the Water Edge People Clan.

Moore attended Intermountain Indian School, Utah. She was on the job training in Brigham City, Utah. She worked 45 years with IHS as a dental assistant and part-time at the Mexican Springs Post Office. Her hobbies included sheep herding.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Moore; son, Patrick Moore of Mesa; daughter, Desiree Crotteau of Chandler; brother, James Sams of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Crotteau, Romon Skeet, Daniel Plummer, Sampson Sam, Bernard Sam, Virgil Sam.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Mexican Springs Chapter House, following services.

Mary Quinn

GRANTS — Services for Mary Quinn, 59, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Compassion Mortuary. The Rev. Garland Moore will officiate.

Burial will be in Monday, Dec. 28, at Tahlequah Community Cemetery, Tahlequah, Okla.

Quinn died Dec. 20, 2009, in Grants. She was born May 5, 1950, in Tahlequah, Okla.

Survivors include her husband, James Quinn of Grants; children, Nicole Suazo of Grants, Shawn Wallace of Grants; step-children, Robert Quinn of Rio Rancho, Jaclyn Finch of El Paso, Texas, Tracy Quinn of Tucson; mother, Mildred Eastham Ryals of Tahlequah, Okla.; sisters, Pat Presley of Tahlequah, Okla., Cathy Ryals of Tahlequah, Okla., Karen Burchette Wagoner, Okla, Debbie Turney of Hulbert, Okla.; brothers, Wayne Ryals of Tahlequah, Okla., Phillip Ryals of Tahlequah, Okla.; 10 grandchildren.

Quinn was preceded in death by her father, Charles Ryals.

GAMERCO — Services are pending for Roger Alan Stark, 66.

Stark died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in Gamerco. He was born March 25, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa.
