Dan Becenti

STANDING ROCK — Services for Dan Becenti, 77, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Christian Reformed Church, Crownpoint.

Evangelist Benny Harry will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Standing Rock.

Becenti died Dec. 31, 2009, in Crownpoint. He was born Aug. 13, 1932, in Standing Rock, into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Becenti attended Standing Rock Day School and Intermountain Indian School. He was a rancher and tamed and trained horses for the community.

He was a carpenter, building homes throughout the community. Becenti was also an auto mechanic.

Survivors include his brothers, Kenneth Becenti of Standing Rock, Jay Becenti of Crownpoint, Eugene L. Becenti of Smith Lake, Bennie P. Becenti of Farmington; sisters, Annie B. Alfred of Standing Rock, Ada B. Yellowhair of Standing Rock, Faye Becenti of Standing Rock, Rose Becenti of Standing Rock.

Becenti was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Becenti, Nellie C. Becenti; sisters, Cecelia Becenti, Baby girl Becenti; brothers, Sam W. Becenti, Ray Becenti.

Pallbearers will be Joelsen Yazzie, JoEldon Yazzie, Kyle Yellowhair, Elrick Becenti, Donovan Becenti, Rayes Armstrong.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Kee Hoskie

RED ROCK — Funeral services for Kee Hoskie, 74, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Rollie Mortuary. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Hoskie died Jan. 2, 2010, in Gallup. He was born April 8, 1935, in Red Rock, into the Mescalero/Chiricahua Apache People Clan for the Salt Water People Clan.

Hoskie attended Albuquerque Indian School and worked 35 years as head custodian for McKinley County Schools and spent 4 years in the National Guard. He retired in 1997 and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and watching his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Hoskie; sons, Leo Hoskie, Lewis Hoskie, Leonard Sam, Kenneth Hoskie; daughters, Lorraine Hubbell, Kathy Titla; brother, Jimmie Hoskie Sr.; sisters, Ann H. Begay, Esther Hoskie; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Hoskie was preceded in death by his parents, Chennie Yazzie Hoskie, Tom Hoskie; son, Kevin.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Hoskie, Michael Phelps, Nolan Hoskie, Kevin Hubbell, Erik Miller, Kaegan Titla.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Red Rock Chapter House, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Jameson

CASAMERO LAKE — Services for Bessie Tolth Jameson, 91, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Jimmy Etsitty will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery. Visitation will follow services.

Jameson died Jan. 1, 2010, in Gallup. She was born June 2, 1918, in Casamero Lake, into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Survivors include her sons, Bennie Jameson of Shiprock, Benson Jameson of Jeddito, Peter Jameson of Albuquerque, Paddy Jameson of Casamero Lake; daughter, Jenny Bennett of Gallup; brothers, Johns Tolth, Lewis Tolth of Borrego Pass, Sammy Tolth of Gallup, Harry Tolth of Continental Divide, Donald Tolth of Prewitt; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.

Jameson was preceded in death by her husband, Roy.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Jameson, Peter Jameson, Virgil Vandever, Perren Jameson, Gary Tolth, Andy Delgarito.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Casamero Lake Chapter House, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Phillip Joe

SMITH LAKE — Funeral services for Phillip Joe, 87, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Seven Churches Pentecostal. The Rev. Eugene Chee will officiate. Burial will be in Joe family cemetery.

Joe died Dec. 30, 2009, in Smith Lake. He was born Nov. 7, 1924, in Borrego Pass, into the Red Streak People Clan for the Mescalero Apache for the Zia People Clan.

Joe worked for the railroad, was a silversmith, rancher and was a member of the rodeo association. He was a co-founder of the Seven Churches Pentecostal. The time of his death, he was an Apostle with the Seven Churches of Pentecostal.

Survivors include his sons, Adrain Joe Sr., Andrew Joe, Amos Joe; daughters, Mary Ann Meese, Bernice Joe, Josephine B. Joe, Dora R. Joe, Celia R. Joe; sister, Dorothy Lope; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Flora C. Joe; sons, Ernest Joe, Abel Joe-Jim, Dejuan Joe; parents, Black Joe, Louise Joe.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel K. Bread, Theodore R. Joe, Monica L. Bitsuie, Douglas Footracer, Ryan Barbone, Harrison Tolino.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Seven Churches Pentecostal Headquarters, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Alfonso Lucero

GALLUP — Services are pending for Alfonson Lucero, 86.

Lucero died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, in Gallup. He was born Nov. 5, 1923, in McGaffy.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Paul Roper

GLENDALE — Services for Paul F. Roper, 70, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ramah. Burial will be in Ramah Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Roper; sons, Scott Roper, Matthew Roper, David Roper; sister, Diane Giguere; nine grandchildren.

Roper was preceded in death by his son, Paul Roper.
