Election seeks OK for school bonds Copyright © 2010 GALLUP — Local school board officials Monday began their annual four-year program of trying to get voters in McKinley County to go to the polls to approve a $20 million general obligation bond election on Feb. 2. If approved, the bond would not raise taxes. Every four years, the Gallup-McKinley County Public School District holds an election to raise funds to improve current school facilities and build new ones. And every four years, city voters say nay and county voters say yea and the bond is approved.
