Leonard Nez Sr.
SAWMILL Services for Leonard Nez Sr, 76, will be 10 a.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Good Shepherd Mission, Fort Defiance.
Pastor Richard Red Stevens will officiate. Burial
will be in Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Fort Defiance. Visitation
will be one hour prior to services.
Nez Sr. died Dec. 13, 2007 in Winslow. He was born May 15, 1931
in Fort Defiance into the Edge Water People Clan for the Bi Water
People Clan.
Nez Sr. had 7 years of education, and worked for Navajo Engineering
Construction Association, (N.E.C.A.).
Survivors include his wife, Meda Segay Nez of Sawmill; sons,
Alvin Nez of Phoenix, Albert Nez of Thoreau, Oswald Nez of Fort
Defiance, Leander Nez of Albuquerque, Herman Marshall of Sawmill,
Leroy Marshall of Church Rock, Samuel Begay of Albuquerque; daughters,
Virginia Silversmith, Elta Nez, Lorraine Nez, all of Fort Defiance,
Virjean Begay of Sawmill, Sylvia Begay of Las Vegas, NV.; sisters,
Marie Yellowhair, Clara Bushyhead; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Nez was preceded in death by his sons, Leonard Nez. Jr., Arthur
Begay, Ivan Alexander; brother, Alfred Nez; one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Good Shepherd
Mission Parish Hall.
Silver Creek is in charge of arrangements.
Gertrude Guillen
GALLUP Memorial services will be at Rollie Mortuary, today,
Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. Funeral services for Gertrude A. Guillen, 72,
will at the St. Francis Church, Gallup. Father Lalo will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup.
Guillen died Dec. 13, 2007 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 14, 1935
in Gallup.
Guillen was of Grandmas Burritos for many years.
Survivors include her sons, Laurence Guillen of Farmington, Raymond
Guillen of Visalia, CA.; daughters, Louise Pena of Gallup, Pauline
Guillen-Montano of Albuquerque; sisters, Mary Paria, Libby Gonzales;
11 grandchildren;; four great-grandchildren.
Guillen was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Guillen; son,
Anthony Guillen; sisters, Helen Poncho, Margie Padilla, Andrea
Aragon; brothers, Carlos Aragon, Joe Aragon.
Pallbearers will be Greg Guillen, Shannon Madrid, Pamela Pena,
Phillip Montano, Madalyn Pena and Joshua Montano.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 3614 Ciniza
Drive, following services.
Donations may be made to The Lung Association.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
