Downtown gas station robbed By Leslie Wood GALLUP A man robbed a local gas station Friday night and fled the location with an undisclosed amount of money. Sgt. Erin Toadlena-Pablo, a spokeswoman for the Gallup Police Department, said a Caucasian man in his 40s or 50s entered Matayas gas station, 431 W. U.S. Highway 66, at about 7:15 p.m. He walked to the stores check-out counter with a few items and then grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the register as the clerk opened it. No weapons were used during the robbery and no injuries were reported, Toadlena-Pablo said. The suspect is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. Police did not have any information about the type of clothing the suspect was wearing. The case is under investigation and detectives are asking for the publics help in solving the crime. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (505) 722-6161. A reward of up to $1,000 is available to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the case. |
