PUEBLO OF ACOMA — Carolee Zuercher, player development manager for Acoma Business Enterprises (ABE) and the Sky City Casino Hotel, has won the top direct mail award at the New Mexico Marketing Awards.

The "Marketer of the Year" award was given to Zuercher because of a direct mail campaign she designed to selected casino players that achieved sterling results.

Zuercher said she was thrilled to receive the award, especially since it was from the statewide association, not just a casino marketing association.

Acoma also received two awards of Merit, one for "Indian Market, Friends of Sky City Reception Invitations,"on behalf of the Sky City Cultural Center and Haak'u Museum; and "Sky City Casino Winner's Circle Monthly Mailer,"sent to members of the casino's Winner's Circle.

"The best thing about the Marketer of the Year award is that is was a team effort, all the way through," she said.

Bill Daily, direct marketing manager for ABE, said: "It's great that our team was recognized by their peers. It was definitely a team effort from concept to creation to the execution and measuring of results."

The marketing department was also in the select group of finalists for the Best of the Best Award.

This is the first time Zuercher ever entered a contest, she said.

"We were up against some top caliber groups, including the state's Department of Transportation and Adalante Publishing from Albuquerque,"she said.
