Burglars hit Gamerco home Copyright © 2008 GAMERCO McKinley County Sheriffs investigators are on the lookout for a burglar who stole more than $10,000 worth of jewelry, firearms and electronics from a Gamerco home Oct. 16. According to the homeowner, Sandra Turnbow, the burglar used a key to enter her home after she left about noon. When she returned around 3 p.m., the door was unlocked, though not damaged. She said the burglars stole a 3-foot jewelry box filled with pearls, diamonds and silver the 53-year-old womans entire 48-year-old jewelry collection. It had all my jewelry since I was 5, Turnbow said. Also stolen were two digital cameras, a satellite dish receiver,
a $1,700 rifle and a nearly-full bottle of Yukon Jack Perma Frost
schnapps from the refrigerator. Turnbow said she thinks the burglar may have been someone close to the family for several reasons. One reason is that her silver, which she stored under clothing items in a particular dresser drawer, had been stolen, even though no other dresser drawer had been opened. She said neighbors had witnessed a gray four-door Chevy car parked
in front of the home at the time of the burglary. To contact Crimestoppers in Gallup, call 722-661. |
