Julie Begay
GALLUP Services for Julie Jewels Begay, 19,
will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Cope Memorial Chapel.
Mario Hooee will officiate. Burial will follow at Naschitti Community
Cemetery. Begay died Oct. 26, 2008 in Sundance. She was born Aug.
7, 1989 in Gallup into the Salt People Clan for the Corn Clan.
Begay attended Gallup Central High School and worked at King
Dragon. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends and family and
her pet turtle. She like spending time with her neice and liked
monkies, Batman and Curious George.
Survivors include her parents Julia Begay of Gallup, Herbert
Halate of Zuni; brothers Ronnie Begay, Tommy Begay, both of Gallup;
sisters Lynsey Halate, Theresa Halate, both of Gallup, Shannon
Vicente of Albuquerque.
She was preceded in death by Thomas H. and Anita Begay, John
and Sally Bryant, Leonard and Lena Halate, Shanoah Yazzie, Levern
Roanhorse, Jonah Yazzie, Donald Gene Phillips Jr., Albert Halate
and Jessie Mark Sittinghawk.
Pallbearers will be Alex Benally, Anddre Singletary, Tommy Begay,
Nathaniel Henry, Ryan Price and Paul Denetdale Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Naschitti
Chapter House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Loretta Benally
CROWNPOINT Services for Loretta C. Benally, 89, will be
announced at a later date.
Benally died Nov. 3, 2008 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 15, 1919
in Pinedale into the Water Flows Together People for the Folded
Arms People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Rose Spencer
PETERSON WELL, N.M. Services for Rose P. Spencer, 75,
will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Twin Butte Nazarene
Church. The Rev. David Boots Wagner will officiate. Burial will
follow at the Gallup City Cemetery.
Spencer died Oct. 29, 2008 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 10, 1933
in Peterson Well.
She was a rancher, housewife and enjoyed cooking, sewing, attending
church revivals and singspirations
Survivors include her husband Jimmy Dil; sons Rodger Spencer
of Spencer Valley, Freddie Spencer of Jones Ranch, Herbert Spencer
of Ramah; brother James Peterson of Pinedale; sisters Alice Peterson,
Marie Hoskie, Maybelle Manning, all of Peterson Well and Paula
Peterson of Portland, Oregon; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ruth Peterson;
late husband Frank Spencer; sister Rita P. Joe and one grandson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Tseyatoh Chapter
House following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
