ZUNI —The usual summer routine of sleeping late, watching TV and playing video games came to a halt, at least for a moment.

For three weeks, about 140 Zuni children participated at a cultural immersion camp at Twin Buttes High School for a primer that teaches the dance, food and language of their people, organizers said. During the classes, 21 staffers have three hours a day to plant the seeds of the Zuni traditional ways.
