GALLUP — This year’s honoree as the 88th annual Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial’s “Living Treasure” has been chronicling the history and times of his people for more than 50 years.

Lee Marmon, 83, is the first photographer ever to be honored by the Ceremonial, and while he may not be well known to a lot of people outside of the Acoma and Laguna pueblos, his photographs have appeared in magazines — like New Mexico Magazine — in books — two of which are by him and even in airport murals — like in Denver International Airport.
