Navajo soldier killed by IED in Afghanistan Copyright © 2009 WINDOW ROCK — The Navajo Nation has lost one of its own in Operation Enduring Freedom. U.S. Army Spc. Troy Orion Tom, 21, was killed in action on Monday by an improvised explosive device in Kandahar Province, according to the Navajo Nation President’s Office.
