As time goes by

To Editor:

We think back to where we started ten years ago. We were proud of our first Relay For Life. We had 12 teams that year, and were able to raise $22,000 for cancer research.

This year, thanks to people like you, Relay has grown in many ways. Our 2009 Relay brought twice as many teams together, and we expect the final count will close to $80,000. You helped make this possible.

Cancer detection, treatment and survival have come a long way. We celebrate these advances but recognize that the fight is not over.

Survivors and their loved ones sincerely thank all of you that donated time, food, equipment and money this year.
