Memorial Services
GALLUP — Memorial services will be 5:15 p.m., Sept. 11, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, in remembrance of 2,993 lives lost during the Sept. 11, 2001 attack. “We will never forget”. There will be a special tribute to the men and women in the Fire, Police and Emergency medical services fields that continue to serve the public. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
Fall Semester
GALLUP — Fall semester of the School of Ministry begins Sept. 11. Classes are Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Registration and classes begin 6:30 p.m., Sept. 11. Book Signing
WINDOW ROCK — Gilbert John, author of “Unbroken Spirit”, will sell and sign copies of his book from 1-6 p.m., Sept. 11, at the Navajo Nation Museum. “Unbroken Spirit” is the story of John’s life from his childhood in Twin Lakes, to the 1975, accident that life him quadiplegic, to his efforts todays to advocate for disabled individuals. Memorial Ceremony
GALLUP — Gallup Fire Department invites you to an observance ceremony in recognition of the eight year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on America, 6-8:40 a.m., Sept. 11, at Gallup Fire Station, 1800 South Second. Will honor fallen firefighters, police emergency, military personnel and civilians who perished on this day. Will also recognize the extraordinary heroism, bravery, generosity and response of all those who assisted in the recovery efforts. All guest are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
