Pancake Breakfast
GALLUP — St. Francis of Assisi School, fund raiser pancake breakfast, will be 7-10 a.m., Sept. 19, at Applebee’s, Gallup. $5 for adults, $3 for children. Tickets can be purchased at St. Francis of Assisi School office or upon arrival at Applebee’s restaurant.
Car Show
GALLUP — Gurley Motor Co. 3rd annual Route 66, all Ford Fist Car Show will be Sept. 19. Registration from 8-10 a.m., car show from 10 a.m.-2 p.. $25 registration fee.

Camping Opportunities
GRANTS — Two District campgrounds are closed for the season beginning Sept. 15. Lobo Canyon Campground, located 8 miles NE of Grants off of State Hwy. 547 (Forest Road 239), and Forest Road 193. McGaffey campground is situated south of Interstate 40 on State Hwy. 400, 8 miles south of Fort Wingate. Both campgrounds will reopen late spring of 2010. Mt. Taylor Ranger District does offer camping opportunities in three other campground until Oct. 19. Coal Mine campground, located 10 miles NE of Grants of State Hwy. 547, which becomes Forest Road 239 en route to the site; Ojo Redondo campground, 26 miles south of Thoreau on State Hwy. 612 which continues on Forest Road 178 and then Forest Road 480; Quaking Aspen, south of Interstate 40 on State hwy. 400, 6 miles south of Fort Wingate. Water is not available at any of these campgrounds, so carry water with you. Info call 505-287-8833 between 8 a.m.-12 p.m., and 1-5 p.m.
