Deadly DWIs Copyright © 2009 GALLUP — This week McKinley County saw its eighth confirmed DWI-related fatality in five months. The tragic spree started May 25 about 5:30 p.m. after Elizabeth and Kee Manygoats left Fire Rock Casino, apparently drunk, in a silver pickup. Security at the casino had refused to provide alcohol service to the brother and sister. Twenty minutes later, Kee Manygoats was dead and Elizabeth Manygoats was in critical condition. Elizabeth had been driving and apparently lost control of the pickup before careening into an arroyo and running headlong into a concrete abutment. The pickup vaulted over a roadway without ever touching it, according to police reports.
