Shenel Begay

SANDERS — Services for Shenel Sue Begay, 17, will be 10 a.m., Sept. 29, at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Garry Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup.

Begay died Sept. 23, 2009, in Sanders. She was born Jan. 12, 2009, in Sanders, into the One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.

Begay was a senior at Sanders Valley High School. She was a store clerk at Navajo Travel Center. She was very athletic, smart, funny, kind, helpful, and a wonderful sister. Begay was in the National Honor Society and always with her friends.

Survivors include her parents, Rosa Steigleder of Sanders, Shane Ed Begay; step-father, Kee Begody Jr.; step-mother, Colleen Cody; brother, Rodrick Begay of Sanders; sisters, Andrea Begay, Renelda Begay, both of Sanders.

Begay was preceded in death by her grandparents, Irene Steigleder, Carl Steigleder, Sam Begay; sister, Gwenda Ann Curley; brother, Erik Frank Begay.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rural Community #214, Sanders.

Donations may be made to the family at fatherins.

Scott Costley

GALLUP — Funeral services for Scott Michael Costley, 21, will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, at First Baptist Church, Gallup. The Rev. Keith Bulthuis will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., tonight, Sept. 28, at Rollie Mortuary.

Costley died Sept. 24, 2009, in Albuquerque. He was born Aug. 21, 1988, in Gallup.

Costley attended Roosevelt Elementary, Rehoboth Christian School and New Mexico Youth Challenge. He worked at Sports World and previously at Universal Air. He raced motocross from the age of 4. He also rode mountain bikes, enjoyed rock climbing and rode four wheeler ATVs. Costley like boating and spending time with friends. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his parents, Todd Costley, Christy Costley, Casey Sullivan; brothers, Craig Costley, Justin Torres, Sean Torres; sisters, Brooke Costley, Paige Costley, Brooke Torres; grandparents, Gilbert and Bernadine Sullivan; Mike and Connie Costley, Dianne Overman, Paul Overman Sr.

Pallbearers will be Craig Costley, Sean Torres, Justin Torres, Anthony Mares, Jose Garcidaenas, Will Lewis.

The family will receive relatives and friends 3 p.m., at the Elks Lodge, Gallup.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Taylor

OTIS — Funeral services for Sarah W. Taylor, 86, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Carson Faith Assembly, Carson. Interment will be in family cemetery, Otis. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., tonight, Sept. 28, at Desert View Funeral Home Chapel.

Taylor died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, in Otis. She was born June 14, 1923, in Otis.

Desert View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
