Trial set in teen's killing
Finally, Evans to face jury for 2005 slaying

GALLUP — Joseph Evans will stand trial for first-degree murder Nov. 16.

That was the decision Friday of District Judge Robert Aragon during a pretrial conference held at District Court. District Attorney Karl Gillson and Deputy Chief District Attorney Jim Bierly requested during the hearing an extension until February, but Aragon denied the motion, citing an already drawn-out criminal proceeding.
