AG to seek special prosecutor for probe

WINDOW ROCK — The Navajo Nation Attorney General will seek the appointment of a special prosecutor to further investigate allegations of possible legal violations by tribal officials, including President Joe Shirley Jr., and employees arising from the tribe’s contractual history with OnSat and BCDS, according to Navajo Department of Justice.

DOJ attorney Henry Howe appeared Thursday before the Navajo Nation Council on behalf of Attorney General Louis Denetsosie, who was out of town, to discuss the status of a special prosecutor recommendation made by Council in October.
