GALLUP — Services are pending for Donavon Mike Becenti, 35.
Becenti died June 20, 1974, in Rehoboth. He was born Sunday, Nov. 15, in Gallup.
Family gathering will be 6 p.m., tonight, Nov. 17, at Tohatchi Chapter House.

Leo Catcheway
GALLUP — Services are pending for Leo David Catcheway, 61.
Catcheway died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, in Gallup. He was born June 4, 1948, in San River, Canada.

Nellie Jenkins
CRYSTAL — Services are pending for Nellie Marie Jenkins, 79.
Jenkins died Nov. 15, 2009,in Albuquerque. She was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Crystal.
A family gathering will be 6 p.m., tonight, Nov. 17, at Crystal Chapter House.

Alfonso Murphy
WIDE RUINS — Services for Alfonso Howard Murphy, 42, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, at St. Anne’s Church, Klagetoh. The Rev. Cormac Antram, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Wide Ruins Community Cemetery.
Murphy died Nov. 11, 2009, in Phoenix. He was born Sept. 5, 1967, in Gallup, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the One Who Walks Around You People Clan.
Murphy attended Wingate High School. He worked in Dumas, Texas for several years. When he came back to Wide Ruins, he worked odd jobs in land scaping. He enjoyed singing Native American Church songs, drawing, telling stories, beading and Native arts and crafts.
Survivors include his son, Alfonso W. Murphy of Fort Defiance; daughter, Alvina Murphy of Fort Defiance; mother, Louise J. Sam of Wide Ruins; brother, Alexander Murphy of Wide Ruins; sisters, Alexandria Murphy of Gallup, Alfreda Harrison of Wide Ruins, one grandchild.
Murphy was preceded in death by his father, Henry H. Murphy; grandparents, John and Mary Silver.
Pallbearers will be Alexander Murphy, Elroy George, Harrison George, Gregory Yazzie, Louanderson Yazzie, Mike Parker.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wide Ruins Community Chapter House, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Christine Nechero
GALLUP — Services are pending for Christine I. Nechero, 64.
Nechero died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Jan. 4, 1945, in Clovis.

Myrtle Santiago
GALLUP — Funeral Mass for Myrtle B. Santiago, 95, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, at St. Michael Parish, St. Michaels. The Rev. Ignacio Candelas will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Nov. 18, St. Michaels Parish. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., tonight, Nov. 17, at Rollie Mortuary.
Santiago died Nov. 12, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Nov. 15, 1913, in Two Wells, into the Black Sheep People Clan for the Sleeprock People Clan.
Santiago worked at the Harvey House and other positions held in food and domestic services as well as a sales clerk at various area trading posts.
She served 18 years in the Foster Grandparent program. In her earlier years, she enjoyed macrame and crocheting. She loved watching NFL and old westerns. She also enjoyed being wit her great-grandchildren and completing word search puzzle books.
Survivors include her son, P. Jay Dennison of Gallup; daughter, Lisa Shirley of Sawmill; 18 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
Santiago was preceded in death by her parents, Ba and Toahidline Biye; five brothers; four sisters; son, Fred Dennison.
Pallbearers will be Matthias Shirley, Lorenzo Shirley, Lee B. Roy Jr., P. Jay Dennison, Adrian Malone, Courtney Dennison.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 1:30 p.m., at K.C. Hall, following services.
