GALLUP — It isn’t a coffee house, nor is it a 24-hour cafe.Nobody sits around in berets, smoking roll-it-yourself cigarettes and talking trash about how to start a revolution. And those on stage don’t perform to the rhythm of bongos beaten by a stool-sitting beatnik wearing dark glasses.

When he announces that he’ll delve into the “Cloud Chronicles,” he draws some slight applause, and Max Cloud, 25, proceeds to wow the un-Bohemian audience with recitations about lost love and circumstance.
