Pedestrians hit, 1 killed
NCI resident dies, second person flown to Albuquerque

GALLUP — A pedestrian died Friday when she was hit by a car near the 2400 block of Aztec Avenue on Gallup’s east side.

Clara Tracy, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene Friday about 6:30 p.m., according to Gallup Police Deputy Chief John Allen. Ronald Hood, 45, was also struck by the car and was taken to Gallup Indian Medical Center before being flown to the trauma center in Albuquerque. Tracy’s identification showed that she was a resident at Na’ nizhoozhi Center, Inc., Gallup’s public detoxification facility, according to responding Gallup Police Officer David Luginbuhl’s report.
