Mother arrested after child found playing on highway

FORT WINGATE — A social worker employed by the Navajo Nation was arrested Christmas Day for child abuse.

Pamela White, 37, an employee of the Navajo Nation Division of Social Services in Window Rock, faces a felony child abuse charge in New Mexico after she was found passed out drunk Christmas Day. Meanwhile a car nearly struck her 3-year-old son who was apparently playing with a mop in the center of N.M. Highway 400.
