Carjacking turns deadly Copyright © 2009 GALLUP — An Oklahoma couple kidnapped a 74-year-old Gallup woman and hijacked her car Sunday near the end of a bizarre string of westbound crimes that culminated in murder and suicide. As Flagstaff Police closed in on Allen Samuel Powers, 32, Sunday about noon, Powers shot his wife and alleged cohort once in the head, using a .22 Ruger, before placing the barrel in his mouth and taking his own life, according to Flagstaff Police Sgt. Michael Terrin. Powers’ wife, whom police have identified as Sylver Coffee, 24, died at Flagstaff Medical Center Tuesday morning.
